Work Schedule: 255 day contract, 8:00-4:30 Monday-FridaySummaryThe District Information Manager is responsible for implementing and optimizing the student information system (Infinite Campus), managing other district data systems, and responding to district data needs. This position demands a collaborative, growth mindset and serves as an integral member of the technology department under the direction of the Director of Technology.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Implementation and optimization of the student information system (SIS):

  • Uses specialized knowledge and skills to manage, maintain, and troubleshoot SIS issues.

  • Identifies system needs, requirements, and testing of system upgrades and enhancements.

  • Seeks opportunities to streamline data management through automation with other systems and by investigating new products and services aligned to district and department goals.

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the SIS by engaging in vendor training and user groups.

  • Provides district-wide training and support for the SIS and effectively communicates updates that impact end-users such as outages, upgrades, and maintenance windows.

  • Creates, maintains, and rescinds appropriate account permissions in the SIS.

  • Utilizes the SIS to coordinate and submit data related to School Reporting in Iowa (SRI), Certified Enrollment (CE), federal reports (CRDC and other third party requests) prior to deadlines and ensures the accuracy of submitted data.

  • Designs, develops, and maintains reports in the SIS and ensures accurate results.

  • Management and integration of district data systems, data requests, and data workflows:

  • Maintains databases necessary to ensure student and staff access to technology resources.

  • Creates and maintains accounts to essential district systems such as Google Workspace.

  • Provides updates to student records in the cafeteria system.

  • Utilizes spreadsheet and database skills to extract, analyze, and interpret information.

  • Monitors the overall quality of district data and develops processes to ensure fidelity (e.g. creates a system of checks and balances to identify errors in data and ensures corrections).

  • Applies rational and creative thinking to identify root causes of problems and their solutions.

  • Collaboration with a variety of stakeholders while providing excellent customer service:

  • Receives, interprets, and fulfills requests for information in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Supports the daily operation of the technology department, the production office, and the Enrollment Specialist during peak periods of activity.

  • Interfaces with vendors and seeks clarification from colleagues as necessary.

  • Assists in the creation and processing of department purchases orders and budgets.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or associate's degree, preferably in a technology discipline, or at least two years of experience involving data management in an education setting.

  • Experience and training related to Infinite Campus and/or state reporting preferred.

  • Background in database management and/or SQL highly desirable.

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly convey complex information to a variety of audiences.

  • Knowledge and ability to work effectively and collaboratively with multicultural/ethnic students, staff, and community populations.

  • Great attention to detail and accuracy of information, including the ability to organize large amounts of data and track multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Experience importing and exporting data.

  • Advanced spreadsheet skills (e.g. use of filters, compound formulas, and pivot tables).

  • Displays a high level of initiative and effort in order to complete assignments efficiently.

  • Works with minimal supervision.

  • Adheres to strict standards of confidentiality and data security.

  • Able to handle confidential work with tact and discretion.

  • Work constructively under stress and pressure when faced with high workloads and deadlines.

  • Exhibits a growth mindset and the ability to adapt to new technologies quickly in an ever-changing environment.

  • Displays high standards of ethical conduct, honesty, and integrity.
