Amazon Sr Reliability Engineer - Condition Based Monitoring (CBM), Reliability, Maintenance, and Engineering (RME) in Arlington, Virginia

Amazon is seeking a Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM) Senior Reliability Engineer (SrRE) for our Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME) team. The CBM SrRE will be a member of the Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME) network Condition-Based Monitoring team and has full accountability and ownership of driving condition-based monitoring and predictive maintenance (PDM) program across the globe. This position is responsible for developing and leading the CBM/PDM maintenance activities that will have a direct impact on equipment uptime, efficiency, cost management, quality, safety, customer satisfaction, innovation, and ultimately profitability.

The CBM SrRE will work to enhance our condition-based/predictive maintenance capabilities to deliver improved equipment reliability, decrease unscheduled repair and maintenance time, and develop strategies to drive lower maintenance costs. In short, drive the maintenance teams to perform the right maintenance at the right time based on real time data and with minimal downtime impact to operations.

Key job responsibilities

• Identify focus areas for the reliability team to work on based on data from the CBM/PDM

• Work across multiple business units to help identify root cause and actions related to condition-based monitoring alarms and actions post major equipment downtime events

• Develop standard operating procedures for the project life cycle

• Develop maintenance benchmarking standards for the predictive program in order to drive improvements among like sites

• Analyze operational data and equipment performance history to deliver improvements in critical maintenance related metrics / key performance indicators (KPIs)

• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of current PdM practices and processes

• Provide, deliver and manage CBM programs in new launch and retrofit sites

• Deep dive low performance of KPIs and provide details for the weekly business reviews (WBR) and monthly business reviews (MBR)

• Schedule and conduct CBM new launch training

• Partner with engineering and startup teams to implement improvements to the condition-based/predictive maintenance program

• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of current CBM practices and processes

• Apply problem-solving tools to identify technical solutions to ambiguous problems

• Lead projects from ideation to completion, managing the lifecycle of complex and/or concurrent projects

• Travel up to 50%

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5+ years of directly managing and responsible for multiple large projects experience

  • Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems and high-speed manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, management, or technology

  • Experience in Lean Management, Six Sigma and other operations engineer tools

  • Experience with benchmarking technical equipment and metrics

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $95,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $177,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
