Philips Software Technologist I – Test in Bangalore, India

You are responsible for

  • Analyse and refine requirements. Defining test strategy for testing based on Intended product usage /business need. Create a structured test methodology for integrated solutions testing using customer use cases.

  • Participate in design discussion and provide input to design finalization.

  • Creating and designing test scenarios based on the customer needs and system design to ensure complete coverage.

  • Define test environment and test data. Support team to setup test environment and to create test data.

  • As a role of expert should review the test documents as per design and Architecture of product.

  • Responsible for handling defect management activities.

  • Establish tractability and test coverage.

  • Provide guidance to automation teams on automation approaches, practices, and tools. Design, develop and maintain test automation scripts using standard and custom tools. Senior level test automation and tools architect supporting an API services development team.

  • Collaborating cross functionally with Test Architects and Test Leads to proactively analyse current processes and practices and defining improvements of test strategy, test frameworks, infrastructure, tools, and test coverage.

  • Responsible for functional and non-functional testing

You will join growing energetic team that develops end-to-end solutions for remote cardiac monitoring, centralized core laboratory services for clinical trials, remote blood glucose monitoring that serves both healthcare and clinical research customers. Opportunity to participate and define consolidated master data model and consolidated clinician portal. Team in Bangalore will be cross functional and participate in projects across Cardio, Care and Research businesses and as well participate in defining integrated AM&D technology platform.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

Skills and experience

  • Overall 5 - 9 years of experience in test discipline, test strategy, test automation

  • QA Automation Proficiency:

  • Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test frameworks for microservices architecture.

  • Expertise in creating automated test suites for ASP.NET and .NET Core applications.

  • Specific knowledge of testing GraphQL APIs and ensuring their functionality, performance, and reliability through automation.

  • Cloud Expertise:

  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with cloud-based services, particularly within Azure (Azure DevOps, Azure Cloud Services, etc.).

  • Ability to conduct testing within cloud-based microservices environments.

  • Selenium, Gherkin, and SpecFlow:

  • Hands-on experience with Selenium for web automation testing.

  • Proficiency in Gherkin language for writing behavior-driven development (BDD) tests.

  • Utilization of SpecFlow to integrate Gherkin with .NET, creating executable specifications.

  • Azure DevOps for Test Plans:

  • Proficiency in using Azure DevOps for test planning, test case management, and test execution.

  • Ability to create, organize, and execute test plans within Azure DevOps.

  • Manual Testing Aptitude:

  • Comfortable and willing to perform manual testing when necessary, understanding its importance in certain scenarios and for exploratory testing.

  • Agile Methodologies:

  • Proven experience working in Agile environments, specifically Scrum, with a deep understanding of Agile testing principles and practices.

  • Knowledge of how QA integrates within Agile/Scrum development cycles.

  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe):

  • Familiarity with SAFe principles, especially beneficial in larger organizations where alignment across multiple teams is crucial.

  • Collaboration and Communication:

  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and stakeholders.

  • Ability to convey testing strategies, results, and potential issues to non-technical team members.

  • Continuous Learning and Adaptability:

  • Eagerness to stay updated with evolving technologies, tools, and best practices in QA automation, cloud computing, and microservices architecture.

Soft Skills

  • Fast learner. Ability to grasp key concepts quickly with minimal or no supervision

  • Ability to take ownership of team goals and deliver with quality and within required timeline

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work across diverse teams
