Job Purpose and Overview This position is accountable for the execution of Dawn's Safety & Environmental strategy aligned to the following functions: Manufacturing, Warehouse, Environmental Control, Engineering, Office, and Quality. The position is responsible for developing and maintaining a culture that strives for continuous improvement of all aspects of Dawn's safety and environmental programs/policies. It is imperative that this position work closely with the site management, safety committee, and front-line team members to drive safety and environmental compliance. This position is accountable for ensuring that Dawn enhances safety and environmental programs and performance throughout the facility; both internally and externally, and consistently leverages best practices.

What will you do as a EHS Managerat Dawn Foods? Accountable for creating an internal environment "where people feel valued" and ensure that all Team Members have a clean, safe & healthy environment. Responsible for the development, implementation and the management of safety and environmental programs, policies, and training to ensure compliance with company policies and government mandated programs. Create and maintain OSHA logs, training, and written safety programs for facility. Maintain and educate the team on the site-specific environmental permits. Manage environmental programs such as Air Permit, SWPPP (storm water), SPCC (spill prevention), In-Direct discharge Permit, Tier II, Universal Waste management, and SARA Title III Hazardous Material to ensure timely and accurate reports to the EPA and/or coinciding regulatory body, and to ensure related inspections are being performed. Manage DOT compliance with shipment of hazardous materials. Assist with compliance to applicable NFPA and insurance provider property recommendations (i.e., combustible dust, storage of flammable liquids and property loss prevention inspections) Maintain in-depth knowledge of existing and proposed environmental health and safety Federal and State regulations. Conduct investigations when an incident or near miss occurs and complete all required paperwork and follow up with a root cause analysis/corrective action to prevent reoccurrence. Share best practices and actions with the manufacturing organization. Facilitate and track monthly safety training for site team members and conduct safety training for all new hires. Lead and coach the Safety Committee members to conduct facility inspections, safety observations and ergonomic assessments. Manages and directs site in achieving Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) targets & objectives. Responsible for the reduction/elimination of hazards and incident reduction within the facility Conducts trends analysis and reporting of results against key EHS metrics to drive reduction in injury & illness rates. Report on metrics and maintain safety systems to drive compliance, including developing detailed performance and tracking mechanisms for leading and lagging safety performance. Responsible for the documentation and follow-up of the workers' compensation claim for the facility in partnership with the Worker's Comp corporate team. Drive EHS compliance through audits, process / equipment reviews and proactive risk elimination and track corrective actions to closure. Analyze spend and monitor budgets to identify cost savings opportunities. Lead and manage the Louisville plant Environmental Control (Sanitation) team, to drive overall equipment and facility cleanliness. Assists in internal audits to ensure compliance with FDA, OSHA, and IFS methods, policies and procedures. Follow, review/update, and ensure team adherence to the Master Sanitation schedule. Assist site to develop and maintain a 24/7 Safety Culture Understand and promote the philosophies and policies of Dawn Food Products, Inc. Supports the Circle of Excellence

What Does It Take to be an EHS Manager at Dawn Foods? Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job. Bachelor's degree in environmental health & Safety, Engineering, or Business preferred. At least 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 2-3 years of experience in a leadership role in Environmental, Health, & Safety Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations Proficient with Microsoft Office programs. Proven experience in a EHS position within manufacturing, distribution, or an operations environment.
