We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Production Control Programmer to join our team in Houston. Job Overview: As a Production Control Programmer at Whirlwind Steel, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth processing of work from drafting to the fabrication shop. Your responsibilities will include data entry, CAD drawing, nesting, and quality checking of work, as well as expediting shop detail questions to our drafting team. Meticulous attention to detail and understanding of manufacturing methods will contribute to our commitment to providing fast and accurate work to our fabrication shop. Job Responsibilities: * Accurate Data Entry: Input data for generating cut lists while understanding shop methods, equipment capacities, and requirements. * Schedule Management: Review weekly schedules and ensure that all required documents are available in the shop for every scheduled order. * Communication: Forward shop detail questions to the appropriate parties in a timely manner and process any required revisions. * Job Scheduling: Schedule all jobs in the Production Data System (PDS) from components and weekly jobs. * Departmental Organization: Sort Oracle lines and shop details by department to provide accurate order information to each fabrication line. * CAD Expertise: Utilize AutoCAD and ProNest for CAD drawing, nesting, and quality checking of work to meet shop requirements. * Collaboration: Collaborate with other Production Control employees to assist in programming, CAD drawing, nesting, and quality checking of work for the shop. Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification is a plus. * Proficiency in AutoCAD and ProNest for editing DXF files. * Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy. * Understanding of manufacturing shop methods, equipment capacities, and requirements. * Excellent organizational and time management skills. * Effective communication skills to coordinate with various teams within the organization. * Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment. * Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
