Summary

CHS is a global organization committed to delivering exceptional transportation services to our clients worldwide and are looking to fill our Senior Director of Transportation Excellence position. This position will implement the long-term transportation strategy by driving successful project execution, process improvement, and organizational maturity. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, establish governance, and ensure alignment with overall business strategy. This position is the process, data, and technology lead and will work with enterprise teams on solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute 3-year strategy by translating into actionable roadmap with clear target state and achievable milestone.

  • Deliver operational excellence and optimization with the right cost management and pricing strategy to maximize the benefits for internal and external CHS stakeholders.

  • Develop a robust data analytics strategy for transportation.

  • Establish transportation KPIs to evaluate success and regularly assess progress and adjust strategies as needed.

  • Monitor and track performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.

  • Identify and mitigate risks and develop strategies to handle unforeseen challenges.

  • Provide direction and leadership to a transportation delivery team.

  • Lead strategic programs and capital expenditure projects related to transportation.

  • Establish process governance for transportation functions.

  • Track and manage addressable spend related to transportation.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, project management, or related field.

  • 10+ years of experience with strategy development, project management, and data analytics

  • Prior leadership experience with advancing level of leadership responsibilities.

Additional Qualifications

  • Significant knowledge and experience in project management and governance, risk management, execution, and data analytics with a strong understanding of how this relates to truck, rail, and barge transportation.

  • Experience with portfolio management

  • Strong influencing skills

  • Process – oriented mindset with a focus on execution

  • Ability to influence, lead change, and meet deadlines to create confidence amongst leadership. 

  • Working in a matrix organization

Physical Requirements

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications.
