Responsibilities

Assists the pharmacist in providing optimal pharmaceutical care to the research patient in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Accurately and efficiently processes investigational drug prescriptions. Interacts with research patients, research coordinators, and research monitors to manage and dispense investigational drugs. Assembles investigational drug prescriptions and follows proper procedures to prepare and dispense investigational medications. Accurately and efficiently completes billing transactions for investigational dispenses and ancillary supplies used in investigational drug protocols. Assists with maintaining accurate investigational medication inventories and billing of investigational medications. Effectively communicates utilizing established systems and processes. Performs responsibilities and duties of the job in a manner that is attentive to age and ability considerations.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent. At least 6 months applicable experience as a Pharmacy Technician. Effectively reads, writes, speaks and understands English. Proven history of effectively performing technical tasks and following written / verbal instructions. Able to apply math and calculator skills along with a working knowledge of the metric system. Possess strong telephone and verbal communication skills. Experience with the use of office software computer applications and keyboarding. Demonstrated ability to work in a busy environment and pay attention to detail. Proven organizational and problem solving skills. Proven ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment. Completion of post-secondary education preferred. No history of drug abuse or misuse; or proof of successful completion of a certified drug abuse rehabilitation program is required. Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Florida Board of Pharmacy. Current accredited Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT); PTCB (preferred) or NHA.

Schedule Details

Typical schedule will be M-F, 8am to 4:30pm with as needed weekend or evening shifts. This is a float position, requiring work in inpatient and outpatient settings and subsequent flexing of hours to the meet needs of the practice setting.
