Armstrong Flooring Inc. (AFI), has an opportunity available for a Sales & Service Representative to work with Big Box and National Strategic Account flooring customers. The work is field-based, helping our network of large retail, wholesale, shop-at-home and e-commerce customers optimize the merchandising and sales of our residential plus commercial flooring products.

As a key member of Armstrong’s National Accounts Sales Team, you will work closely with our National Sales Managers acting as the “face and voice” of Armstrong at the regional and in store-level, working to grow profitable sales of Armstrong products with this group of key strategic customers. Key Responsibilities

  • Establish productive and continuous professional relationships with key personnel in assigned accounts (Store Management / Department Managers / Pro Services / Sales Associates) on a daily basis to communicate and execute Armstrong Flooring initiatives.

  • Drive regional plus store-level execution of new product introductions, customer specific initiatives and promotions.

  • Monitor, identify and evaluate products, pricing or promotional activities of the competition within the marketplace. Provide communication to management in a timely fashion.

  • Conduct training of customers’ sales associates and store-level personnel in the areas of product knowledge, technical information, and installation. Respond to customer in-store staff questions or needs on products.

  • Represent Armstrong Flooring at new store openings, new customer training and regional plus in store events.

  • Maximize retail sales by ensuring displays are set to plan-o-gram, maintain POP, merchandising, confirm pricing, down-stock product, removing defective or damaged product and organize in-stock product.

  • Execute team sales call standards to complete assigned customer initiatives, travel, accurate and timely paperwork, reports, recaps, itineraries and expense reporting.

  • Dependability and attention to detail is imperative, as you will travel throughout an assigned territory maintaining a consistent call cycle with assigned stores.

  • Participate in special projects or initiatives as required.

  • Meeting and exceeding plan goals for assigned stores is expected.

  • Analyze business needs, use your territory and market knowledge to generate best practice ideas to support opportunities that Sales Managers plus Team will use to drive sales.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.

  • Be able to travel 50% overnight.

  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.

Desired Qualifications

  • 2+ years big box retail and merchandising experience.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Proven ability to work independently and toward team goals in a fast paced environment.

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and best in class customer service skills.

  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • Ability to work varied hours/days as customer needs dictate.
