WestRock Company Industrial Electrician in Knoxville, Tennessee

WestRock in Knoxville, TN is looking for an Industrial Electronics Technician for 12-hour, night shift schedule.

Pay is based on experience.

HIRING IMMEDIATELY.

GENERAL PURPOSE: Performs electronic and mechanical maintenance of facility and equipment in an efficient and professional manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems up to 480 volts.

  • Interpret electrical publications such as schematics and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot and repair machine controls including components such as relays, sensors, switches, motors, PCBs and PLCs.

  • Replace and calibrate electronic devices.

  • Troubleshoot/repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems including valves, compressors, pumps and blowers.

  • Perform predictive maintenance on high impact assets, including the use of infrared cameras, vibrational and ultrasonic test equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical problems and make repairs as needed.

  • Perform basic cutting and welding to fabricate items such as guardrails, brackets, and hangers.

  • Use a multimeter and/or other specialized tools to measuring electrical systems.

  • Use scales, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments accurately.

  • Safely operate shop equipment such as grinders, drill presses, and saws.

  • Bend conduit and pull wire.

  • Operate scissor, boom and Fork-Lifts.

  • Maintain accurate records using computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

  • Support various recycling programs such as light bulbs, batteries and metals.

  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have high school diploma or G.E.D.

  • Training, certification, or a degree in electrical technology is a PLUS

  • Must be able to properly use scales, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.

  • Must have working knowledge of electronic devices such as reversing motor starters, PLCs and various sensors.

  • Must be trained in basic electrical and mechanical safety.

  • Must have sufficient aptitude for computer software such as outlook, excel and word.

  • Must have the ability to read schematics, prints, ladder diagrams, and drawings.

  • Must have knowledge of and ability to interpret national electrical code and NFPA 70E.

  • Must be able to maintain good attendance.

  • Must be willing to work every other weekend.
