As a growing dynamic company, we are looking to add a Benefits Specialist to our team of professionals. In this role, you will assist with benefits enrollment configuration, claims, insurance billing, and employee database and files. We need a detail-oriented organized professional who has experience with PEO benefit administration including medical, dental, life, and disability. Summary/Objective

The benefits specialist will assist with benefits administration, enrollment, and questions, insurance billing, and maintain employee databases and files.

Essential Functions

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

  • Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits.

  • Quarterback the Open Enrollment process for clients, working with the HR team, carrier, and employee service center to plan each client's open enrollment process 

  • System configuration - highly skilled in electronic benefit enrollment systems (preferably PRISMHR) and has experience with aggregate and small group plan set-up and configuration.

  • Creates and monitors workflow notifications in PRISMHR for all benefit enrollment and life event changes.

  • Assists with benefit billing reconciliation.

  • Conduct benefits orientations and explain the benefits self-enrollment system.

  • Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in the payroll system for payroll deduction.

  • Assist employees with health, dental, life, and other related benefit claims.

  • Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims, and costs. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.

  • Administer COBRA - work with COBRA provider to ensure that terminated employee information is properly transferred promptly.

  • ACA year-end reporting and filing.

  • Assist with 5500 filing process

  • Assist with employee claims denial assistance requests.

  • Assist in obtaining statistics and information in the renewal process of any health, life, and retirement plans that benefit the company.

  • Prepare and set up meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits and other related incentive programs. Ensure distribution of required employee notices.

  • Prepare and maintain biweekly employee reports, new hire, and absentee reports. Maintain and update company organizational charts, phone directory, and other requested reports as needed.

  • Assist in completing benefits reporting requirements.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are typically Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. (EST)

Travel

Some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected for annual open enrollment periods

Required Education and Experience

  • Degree preferred

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in benefits administration

  • PRISMHR Experience

  • PEO benefit administration

  • Have ACA and carrier knowledge

  • Strong computer skills

  • Health Insurance License or CBP preferred but not required
