The voice of our executives continue to be key contributors to Dow’s brand and reputation, as well as powerful instruments to support both industry and global economic growth through smart policies and business models.

About you and this role

You will be responsible to help develop and execute a refreshed executive communication strategy for our chief executive spokesperson. This will include driving holistic, coordinated, and timely communication strategies, messaging, and deliverables that support development and implementation of podium events, speeches, and other internal and external strategic engagements. You will also lead coordination of multi-executive communications across a variety of thought leadership platforms and events.

Additionally, in this role you will contribute to the Company’s new One Dow Enterprise Reputational Strategy efforts in collaboration with key leaders across Global Public Affairs. This includes partnering with the Enterprise Reputational Steering Team to help develop and align executive communications across Dow on key editorial and policy message platforms.

This role requires a strong understanding of the external trends and drivers impacting our industry globally. A successful candidate will have strategic and critical thinking skills, strong writing skills, be comfortable working in grey space, solid business/financial acumen, and the ability to effectively collaborate with global and diverse business, functional and geographic teams.

As a key member of the Office of the CEO and Executive Communications team, you will report to the Lead Director for the Office of the CEO and Executive Communications.This position can be located at any Dow location in North America.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and help lead the implementation of an executive communications strategy in partnership with the Lead Director.

  • Engage with Corporate Communications, businesses, geographies, Public Policy and other Dow teams to develop message platforms around key topics critical to the Company’s strategy and growth plans.

  • Directs and/or develops the coordination of messaging, materials and assets critical to support internal and external executive engagements.

  • Partners closely with the OCEO team to ensure messaging consistency and up-to-date positions are incorporated in executive briefings and other materials.

  • Partners closely with the Executive Social Media Manager to provide messaging platform priorities and input critical to executive social media strategies.

  • Collaborates with the Enterprise Reputational Steering Team and colleagues in businesses, functions and geographies across the Dow enterprise to ensure consistency of messaging on all enterprise-level topics of interest.

  • Collaborates with multiple individual external stakeholders and organizations/association in support of CEO/Company needs.

  • Assures that key external events are properly communicated inside the company, either regionally or globally, according to the appropriate communication vehicles.

  • Plans and forecasts stakeholder needs, develops strategies/approaches, determines necessary resources to successfully complete requests.

  • Directs agency resources to successful completion.

  • Occasional staffing of key executives at select events, as needed.

  • Provides coaching and feedback to functional colleagues to help elevate the value of the function and offer professional development.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degreeorrelevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience.

  • A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States or Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience and comfort working with executive-level stakeholders.

  • Understanding of the chemical industry and industry trends.

  • Understanding of the chemical industry, industry trends, Dow’s strategy and business structure.

  • Strong business and financial acumen.

  • Successful collaborator who can work across cross-functional teams and successfully manage multiple stakeholders.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; communicates directly and succinctly across multiple organizational levels.

  • Experience with, and comfort working with executive-level stakeholders.

  • Keen attention to detail.

  • Ability to apply robust critical thinking in fast-paced situations.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

  • Self-starter; effectively work with limited direction while adhering to critical deadlines.

  • Strategic problem-solver; able to identify and troubleshoot inefficient, unreliable processes.

  • Expert in Word and PowerPoint.
