Lead Cook
*\$5,000 Sign-On Bonus\ *Full Time Monday-Friday; 40 hours per week; 49 weeks per year

Your role:
- The Lead Cook guarantees children are served nutritious, tasteful, and appealing meals and snacks according to approved menus that follow the CACFP guidelines.
- Prepares breakfast, lunch, and/or snack for enrolled children, staff, and visitors following menus and recipes provided by Health & Nutrition Manager, ensuring that meals are prepared on time and correct portions are served at the appropriate temperature.
- Is responsible for proper food preparation, temperature control, sanitation, portion sizes and safe food storage.
- Ensures daily function of all food service activities meets established expectations, including food transport to other centers if necessary.
- Supervises center nutrition staff.
Qualifications:
- Applicants must have a high school diploma, GED or HSE equivalent.
- Must have ServSafe certification or become ServSafe certified immediately after hire.
- Experience in the area of nutrition, food preparation and sanitizing is required. Experience with infants, toddlers and/or preschoolers preferred.
- Experience with supervision of staff preferred.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds, reach to an area of two feet and bend to ground level.
- The Lead Cook must be able to perform repetitive work such as chopping, slicing, peeling, etc. for a minimum of two hours per day.
- Immunized against MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and TDaP (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis).
- Must be able to pass a background check, to include DHHS and fingerprinting.
