The Product Sustainability team works to minimize the environmental impacts of the way we design and manufacture our products. As a Product Sustainability Technical Lead, you will lead cross functional initiatives to unlock sustainable design opportunities in the product portfolio and advance our key focus areas of our sustainability mission - Product Longevity, Energy Efficiency, Design for Serviceability, Safer Materials and Circular Materials. This is a short-term, 6 month contract role This role can be done from home Building the world's leading sound experience starts with the experience we provide for our people. That's why we've been distributed from the start: initially between offices in Boston & Santa Barbara, and now with additional offices in Seattle, San Francisco & Paris. This role can be done from anywhere in the United States- any of our offices, or remotely from home. It's about impact, not location. What You'll Do Scope opportunities with cross-functional teams from product development and operations to align and achieve mutual goals and sustainability progress. Direct ISO-compliant Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies and technical documentation for Product Environmental Reports. Drive technical readiness of novel technologies and materials for application to new product introduction programs. Improve data quality and own emissions reduction strategies in product usage, supply chain, and distribution logistics to reach Climate Action Plan milestones. Implement and verify technical requirements for products to demonstrate advancement of responsible design in new product introduction. Assist Product Sustainability Leads in litigation concerning technical risk and operational constraints on product programs. Basic Qualifications: BS in engineering discipline or environmental sciences. 8+ years of related professional experience in a corporate or consulting environment. Experience completing ISO compliant Life Cycle Assessment studies. Experience developing and applying program management tools including GANNT charts, RASCI, Work Breakdown Structures, and Statements of Work. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience crafting multi-faceted problem statements and solution strategy. Ability to influence, with strong storytelling and presentation skills. Track record of influencing others by striking compromise and identifying mutual goals. Ingenuity: You are able to creatively problem solve to achieve our targets. You're at ease working in a fast-paced, ambiguous, dead-line driven work environment. Collaboration: You have a demonstrated ability to gain trust, engage and influence people and teams at all organizational levels. Organizational skills: You are detail driven, have a bias for action, and meticulous organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications: Exposure to risk management, program charters, sourcing operations, and manufacturing models (CM/JDM/OEM). Experience managing 3rd party consultant partners.
