Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Laboratory Supervisor, you will manage schedules and train and assign duties to the Technologists, Technicians, and Lab Assistants. Our laboratory performs inpatient phlebotomy and testing on blood, tissues, and body fluids in compliance with all standards set by applicable regulatory agencies, including CAP, JCAHO, CLIA, and OSHA.

  • You will maintain knowledge of all procedures and protocols.

  • You will maintain proficiency in the performance of technical procedures.

  • You will perform testing for patients with varying degrees of clinical conditions and different acuity levels.

  • You will provide testing for all age ranges, from newborns to geriatric patients.

  • You will manage day-to-day operations within the assigned area of coverage and maintain effective communications with staff members, other Supervisors, Lab Director, Pathologists, and all Laboratory clients.

  • You will perform essential functions with minimal supervision and coordinate efforts daily with other Lab Supervisors.

What qualifications you will need:

  • MT/MLS ASCP, AMT, or equivalent required.

  • A college graduate or equivalent who has passed a certification examination for MT/MLS ASCP, AMT, or equivalent.

  • Certification requires a B.A. or B.S. in medical technology or a related field (chemistry, biology, etc.), and a one-year internship in an accredited program is required.

  • Four years minimum experience as a Technologist in the assigned area is required.

  • Must have strong leadership skills and good interpersonal and computer skills.

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized

  • Shift:10:00 am -6:00 pm
