Grand Valley Manufacturing Co. Manufacturing Engineer in Titusville, Pennsylvania

Grand Valley Manufacturing is look for a Manufacturing Engineer to help us implement processes that result in high-quality products. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for managing the technical aspects of projects and providing guidance to Sales, Quality, Purchasing, and Operations through the application of sound engineering principles. 

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Understand industry specifications and standards as they apply to Grand Valley Manufacturing projects.
  • Review customer supplied technical drawings, plans, and specifications to determine what is required of Grand Valley Manufacturing to meet customer requirements successfully and efficiently. 
  • Confer with vendors on product specifications to determine costs and arrange for the purchase of equipment, materials, parts, and/or services. Evaluate supplied products/processes according to specifications and quality standards.  
  • Maintain and organize material and process documentation (material certificates, external process documentation, internal process documentation, inspection reports, part matrices) to create and distribute data packages to customer for approval.  
  • Design fixtures and tooling to meet / improve production needs, product quality, and manufacturability.  
  • Research and develop innovative and cost-effective means to improve techniques, procedures, and technologies. 
  • Participate in pre-production planning. Act as a technical resource for machining capabilities, workflow, efficiencies, potential designs for tooling and fixtures, etc. 
  • Participate in project management by tracking and communicating progress of materials, vendor services, required documentation, third party or government inspections, and NDE/NDTs.
  • Support product quality using a team approach to evaluate non-conformances, work with vendors to improve material/service quality, implement containment actions, create and evaluate corrective actions, and establish robust processes to minimize disruptions.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor's in engineering, minimum of 2 -- 4 years' experience performing engineering tasks in a manufacturing setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with SolidWorks and CAD/CAM preferred. 

Preferred Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis in Excel.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, written and verbal. 
  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend instructions. 
  • Must be able to convey detailed/complex information in written or verbal format.
  • Able to think critically and analytically to proactively solve problems. 
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, consistently meeting deadlines with accurate and detailed results. 
  • Strong mathematical skills, with an emphasis on calculus, statistics, and applications of both. 
  • Able to understand technical drawings and requirements.

The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk; and h ar. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk; reach with hands and arms; lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and infrequently lift/move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.   

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally enter manufacturing areas where they are exposed to moving mechanical parts, moderate to loud areas, and airborne particles. The employee will be required to wear eye, foot, and/or other personal protective equipment when in manufacturing areas.
