What you’ll be doing

The role of this position focuses primarily on the daily management of global foreign and USD correspondent accounts and providing coverage to the CAD Cash Management, WMI Cash Management and FLM Canada desks as required. Treasury Cash and Intraday Liquidity Management (TCIM) reports into the office of the Treasurer.

TCIM’s major responsibilities include;

  • Central Bank account management

  • Funding and management of global correspondent accounts

  • Broker Dealer (WMI) cash management

  • Oversight and management of Bank of Canada designated financial market infrastructure (FMI)

  • Intraday liquidity management, trading, and reporting

  • Optimal leverage and mobility of collateral and liquidity supporting payment, clearing and settlement systems and funding processes

  • Oversight of funds flow and global securities holdings by various business lines across the CIBC group of companies

How you’ll succeed

  • Stakeholder Management- This position interacts with both internal and external clients of CIBC with contacts ranging up to senior management levels. These include frequent to daily interaction with Foreign Exchange, Treasury, Payment Operations, global correspondent banks and Payments Canada

  • Subject Matter Expert- ·As this position is responsible for the management of CIBC’s foreign currency nostro accounts, this function has the authority to make short term (i.e. overnight) investment decisions within Risk Management approved parameters to ensure residual cash positions (long or short) are funded within the best interests of CIBC.

  • Handling multiple priorities- Ability to multitask and make time sensitive decisions around very large dollar value cash positions and transactions

  • Analytical- Strong forecasting and analytical skills, ability to work under pressure due to time constraints and high volumes

Who you are

  • You have demonstrated experience . Strong knowledge of cash and risk management principles and practices, correspondent banking arrangements, payments and clearing services. University degree in Business/Finance or equivalent experience. Canadian Securities Course required. CFA candidacy preferred

  • You are confident in your knowledge . Strong understanding of payments and settlement systems, associated risk models, use of funds concepts and compensation practices

  • You have well developed stakeholder management. Excellent communication skills, ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships

  • Subject Matter Expert. Extensive financial market acumen and systems applications knowledge with a focus on MS Office Suite, (i.e. Excel, VBA)
