About You

We’re seeking a result-focused, innovative, self-driven, and well-qualified individual to join our talented team as our Maintenance Mechanic. Based out of our Torrington Connecticut location, you will support operational areas and business developmentby performing scheduled maintenance, repairs and assembly of facility, production, and lab equipment

In addition, you will:

  • Ensure minimum production down time by performing preventive maintenance of production equipment and building facilities according to schedule and urgent repairing as needed (weekends or overnight).

  • Flexibility to support operation in different areas by running maintenance related errands using company truck, carpentry, painting and grounds keeping duties, assisting other sites (Oligomers) as required.

  • Support contractor projects by aiding Maintenance Contractors on site that are retained to repair/install equipment within the facilities.

  • Support capital expenditure by providing information (drawings, historical information, preventive maintenance log) to justify investment; being the maintenance interface during project implementation and work with Contractors on the shop floor if necessary.

  • Perform administrative tasks by entering and closing work orders in COGZ. Printing scheduled PM tasks. Requesting parts and material for work order completion. Maintaining spare parts inventory in COGZ.

  • Demonstrate strong customer advocacy by presenting good people skills and teamwork, along with a strong sense of urgency and prompt response, moving from task to task with little notice. Maintaining dialog with production, planning and engineering departments

  • Maintain a safe, healthy, clean, ergonomically sensitive productive workplace by establishing and following best housekeeping practices for maintenance shop and areas where execute maintenance repair, and by practicing and implementing safe lifting and loading techniques. Also, by complying with all applicable standards, policies and procedures (LOTO, for example), including safe work practices, environmental awareness and quality related policies and procedures.

Requirements

You should have:

  • High School diploma; associates degree preferred. Trade school, completion of formal apprenticeship programs or six to eight years of plant maintenance experience.

  • Must be comfortable using forklift and powerlifting equipment and jacks. Able to use all types of basic hand tools and electrical/battery-operated power tools. Valid driver’s license.

  • Some knowledge and experience working with ERPs (create requisitions) and maintenance software (CMM). Ability to use email to communicate with Vendors and Dymax employees.

  • Physical requirements include some heavy lifting to 50 lbs. and the ability to climb a ladder. See the following page

  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance or facilities is required

  • Must have a clean driving record to operate company vehicles between sites

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be self-directed and operationally productive without constant supervision

Salary Range: $56,522 - $74,822

Our company takes the compensation of its employees very seriously and considers several factors when determining the total compensation package including but not limited to location, market range, skills, knowledge, experience, and abilities. The base salary range represents the low and high end of our company's salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range. The range listed is just one component of our company's total compensation packages for employees.
