Description:

• Controls IT assets in one or more significant areas, ensuring that administration of the acquisition, storage, distribution, movement and disposal of assets is carried out. - Produces and analyzes registers and histories of authorized assets (including secure master copies of software, documentation, data, licenses and agreements for supply, warranty and maintenance). - Ensures that there are no unauthorized assets such as unlicensed copies of software. - Receives and handles requests for support following agreed procedures. Responds to requests for support by providing information to enable incident resolution and promptly allocates unresolved calls as appropriate. Maintains records and advises relevant persons of actions taken - Acts as the routine contact point between organization and supplier. Collects and reports on supplier performance data.

Is thoroughly familiar with the concepts and practices required to implement effective IT solutions, particularly those employed in own organization. - Acts as routine contact point between organization and supplier. - Checks invoices from suppliers to establish whether they are valid. - Attends regular routine operational supplier review meetings. - Following agreed procedures, provides advice to users on systems, products and services which are available to them. - Organizes and presents sound information and advice on issues such as licensing of software, and legal obligations such as compliance with the Data Protection Act. - Promotes awareness of and commitment to IT asset control and distribution responsibilities and benefits for both the employing organization and external users. - Ensures that all requests from users for assistance are handled promptly and effectively such that agreed service levels are met; is proactive to ensure that users receive appropriate personal advice and guidance, and make effective use of the facilities available to them.
